Multi Dimensional - 2D

Introduction

From your given band name, "Smell My Tweezers", explore a number of different approaches to a final solution for the bands 'mark/logo' that best represents the style and musical motivation of said group to its best adoring audience or protentional new followers.

Inspiration

Picture
I have looked at various books that were available in University's library and have found a variety of images, as well as, I have been taking pictures of things that have inspired me.

I personally am really interested in the droopy/dripping effect that is often used in graffiti street artworks and I'm planning on using that effect within my own work.
Music Genre:
- Metal
- Electric
- Rock
- Hardcore Punk
- K/C/J Pop(?)

Inspirational Bands:
- Bon Jovi
- ACDC
- Bracia
- Guns n' Roses
- Metallica
- Megadeth
- ON/OFF
- BTS (2013 - 2014 era)

Theme:
- Contrasting and Complementary Colours
- Dark or Bright
- Blood, Flesh, Gore?
- Evil
   - Devil? / Satanic Majesty?
   - Pentagram
- Mythology
   - Hades
- Faded and dull colour palate

Initial Ideas

I went for the theme of gore quite literally - I have sketched out various ideas although the one I like the most are the eye, the tooth, the finger, and the nose, as well as the graffiti styled band name abbreviation.

Through my research of anti-Christ and satanism I have found out that the word "δαίμων" (pronounced daímōn or daemon) is an ancient Greek word that is mainly referred to a good spirit which I found interesting because it appears and is pronounced almost identically to the word 'demon'.

Development

Further Ideas

New theme; I also want to try to come up with a different possible atmosphere I wanted the band to be. I want this atmosphere to present repellent, revolting, vile, offensive, loathsome (ick)
Genre: indie, smooth soul
- example;
    - Teddy Pendergrass
    - Sam Coke "The King of Soul"
I have created a few new rough logo ideas in order to tie in the new theme I wanted to combine. I have tried to really visually amplify the sense of smell within these logos. I really like the ones with the cross in the middle of the letter 'M' because the cross represents the tweezers.
I have created some further ideas with a fine liner with nibble thickness of 1.0 in order to stop myself from worrying about how the rough sketches end up in the end.

I also tried to combine barbed wire with my sketches, as well as roses, in order to create a more line art tattoo style. I actually really like the combination of the two and I decided that I wanted my logo to include a rose and barbed wire.

Development

I drawn, scanned and improved the logo by adding colour and creating simple black, as well as, white outline of the logo by the use of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; in order for the logo to be finalised and ready to be placed onto mock up merch.
